Lauren has over a decade of experience exclusively practicing family law in the Bay Area, and has represented clients in matters in San Francisco, San Mateo, Alameda, Santa Clara, Contra Costa, Marin, Sonoma, and Napa counties. Lauren brings an insightful and practical approach to her work. She prioritizes what matters most to her client and balances pragmatic problem-solving with strong advocacy. Her practice includes both mediation and litigation, and she is well versed in all aspects of marital dissolutions, such as property division, child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, and domestic violence. She is experienced in drafting and negotiating prenuptial and marital settlement agreements and represents clients in negotiations, hearings, and trials. Having spent her entire legal career in the Bay Area, Lauren has extensive experience with complex and sophisticated financial matters, including those that stem from equity stakes in startups and tech companies.
Before co-founding Kreitzer Sadler Birnbaum LLP, Lauren ran her own family law practice in San Francisco, served as a senior associate at a respected family law firm, and interned with the San Francisco Unified Family Court.
Lauren is active in the family law community and strongly believes in the power of giving back to the community. She was named Settlement Officer of the Year by the San Francisco Unified Family Court in 2025, where she regularly volunteers her time. She is currently serving as Vice Chair of the Family Law Section of the Bar Association of San Francisco and is a member of the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists. She has also served for several years as a pretester and grader for the State Bar’s Family Law Specialist exam.
Originally from Monterey, California, Lauren has lived in the Bay Area since 2010. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking and spending time with her husband and two daughters.
